President Obama has invited the CEO’s of some of America’s largest companies to convene with top government security and law enforcement officials at a summit to be held at Stanford University on February 13, 2015. Expected to join are top officials from Homeland Security, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Secret Service and the Chief Executive Officers of Apple, Bank of America, American Express, Visa, Inc., Facebook and others.

The stated purpose of the summit is to provide a forum and venue for sharing of information between the private sector and government in the wake of increasing cyber attacks. President Obama’s personal appearance at the summit lends both an air of urgency and the expression of commitment by the administration to increased security and enforcement measures. Corporate and government attention has become more focused on these issues in the aftermath of the Anthem data breach.

The summit proceedings will stream live on the White House website. The events can be followed at www.whitehouse.gov. Additionally, the Privacy Risk Report will continue to provide updates with any developments.
